PROJECTS

A collection of creative projects exploring identity, connection, and design.

CrownMe
PROJECT

CrownMe is a design series that began as custom gifts for friends and family, celebrating identity and personal pride. Encouraged by their positive reception, the series evolved into apparel and promotional items available to the public—each piece intended as a wearable crown, honoring individuality and self-expression.

OBJECTIVES

The project’s goal was to create affirming, accessible designs that uplift marginalized voices. This was achieved through bold visuals, thoughtful messaging, and a sincere origin that carried through as the series reached a wider audience.

Maize PROJECT

Inspired by a family member’s love of bourbon, Maize Project explores bottle design through hand-painted glass. The series blends personal heritage with an interest in form, using the bourbon bottle as both subject and canvas.

Tall
TALK

Tall Talk is a web design project aimed at improving communication between speech therapists and patients. The platform offers simple, user-friendly tools to support scheduling, resource sharing, and progress tracking.

EPiT PROJECT

EPit is an ongoing project focused on vectorizing epithelial cells, their organelles and key internal structures. It combines scientific accuracy with clean design to make cell structures  visually engaging.

Princess Peaches

The pet art began with a digital painting where I used a live-action reference of Princess Peaches from Mario Kart for the dress and body, imposed Peaches’ head onto it, and recolored the entire piece pink against a painterly background.

Next came Beagle Bagel, a graphic design used for embroidery and garment printing. The phrase stems from the term “bagel,” often used for beagle and basset hound mixes, which we believed Peaches was—until a DNA test proved otherwise. The design features a bagel-shaped outline with a line drawing of Peaches in the center, surrounded by the words “Beagle Bagel.” To optimize it for embroidery, I simplified the details, filling in only her nose, eyes, and collar to reduce excessive stitching.

Another piece was a traditional pet portrait, inspired by three empty frames in our home—one for each of our pets. I selected a favorite photo of Peaches and transferred it onto a board prepped with gesso and a pumice gel layer for texture and pastel adherence. This allowed me to build up soft layers of color with minimal blending, creating a richly textured and lifelike piece.

Finally, I designed a logo and website for a pet collar concept my mother envisioned—featuring interchangeable bling and optional tracking or identification features. The logo took inspiration from Peaches’ bubbly nature, with a playful font and a peach-shaped icon incorporating a color-block portrait of her. The website’s structure centered around her, integrating images of Peaches at every step: from the homepage introduction to sections explaining the collar’s design, special charms, and a concluding tribute to her with a list of charms I’d personally choose for her.

    Prince Ali Al'Bobcat

This project began as a way for me to document the journey of adding another cat to our household. I decided to make it a visual project. The logo focused on his name, Prince Ali Al’Bobcat. I applied Catnip plus a secondary font to “Al’Bobcat”, and a color palette inspired by his eyes.

For the petsite, I used the visual of him sitting in our window as the main image with a graphic brick wall effect to emphasize the window setting. His quirks were then listed below in blocks, visually representing his unique traits, as well as references to current cat studies.

This site is a curated resource following Ali’s new life as he delves into his new home. Studies, helpful tips, and heartwarming stories illustrate his transition as we try to understand his assertive and inquisitive behaviors and adjust his feline care for his well-being. We share to help other’s search for feline knowledge.

    A Learning Curve

    for the humans

The learning curve was steep as we all adjusted to each other’s presence to include territorial disputes. Ali, the former street cat, faced health issues that from dry skin to neutering at an older age. Despite the hurdles, watching him grow into his new home has been rewarding.

    Zylkene Effects on Anxious Cats

In this research endeavor, an investigation was conducted to evaluate the anxiolytic, or anxiety-reducing, effects of a test diet known as the Royal Canin Feline Calm diet. This diet was enhanced with two specific components: L-tryptophan and alpha-casozepine. The study focused on a cohort of 24 cats that were categorized as either mildly or markedly fearful based on their reactions to the presence of a person in their designated living space. The outcomes of these protocols indicated that the test diet demonstrated a notable reduction in anxiety responses when the cats were placed in unfamiliar surroundings, but not an unfamiliar person.

    PROTEIN g %

The ‘Impact of Macronutrient Composition and Palatability in Wet Diets’ study provides nutritional averages for cats, including protein, calories, and fat content.

Cats prioritize high-protein, low-carb diets, keeping daily carbohydrate intake under 3 g/kg body weight. Limiting carbs in favor of high-protein options ensures optimal protein and energy levels. High-protein/low-carb diets average 6g of protein per body weight per day. In summary, cats choose diets that maximize protein intake while minimizing carbs.
